Investigations by the Data Protection Commissioner continue to gather pace for all sectors.  It is best to put data protection procedures in place before problems occur to avoid legal liability, negative publicity and cost of regulatory enforcement.  All staff who work with personal data should receive basic training in data protection compliance.
